3. Matters Arising from the Minutes

3.1 Serious Criminal Offences and the Role of the Student Discipline Committee

To note that two further cases which have been considered by Risk Assessment Panels will shortly be heard by Student Disciplinary Panels, and procedures in this area will be reviewed further in the light of the experience of dealing with these, and previous cases.

3.2 Matters Arising from the Minutes not appearing elsewhere on this Agenda

4. Amendments to Ordinance XVII Conduct and Discipline of Students

To consider proposed amendments to Ordinance XVII Conduct and Discipline of Students.

5. Paperwork for Student Disciplinary Panels

To review the impact of the Committee’s decision, in November 2009, not to include the memorandum sent by the Security Manager/Deputy Security Manager to the Chief Operating Officer, containing a summary of the alleged offence, as part of the documentation circulated to Student Disciplinary Panels.

6. Disciplinary Problems and Notice to Quit in University Accommodation

To note for information an extract from the April 2010 Office of the Independent Adjudicator newsletter, referring to the potential problems that may arise in removing students from accommodation during or following disciplinary proceedings.

7. Major Offences 2009-10 (up to 1 June 2010)

To receive a summary of major offences dealt with by Student Disciplinary Panels in the 2009-10 academic year up to 1 June 2010.
