*11.     Amendments to Regulation XXVI and to the Code of Practice on Research Degree Programmes

*11.1    On the recommendation of Research Committee, to approve amendments to Regulation XXVI and to the Code of Practice on Research Degree Programmes, to enable candidates for a research degree to register directly for the award of PhD, rather than register initially on an MPhil programme, with effect for students registering from 1 October 2012.

*11.2    On the recommendation of Research Committee, to approve amendments to Regulation XXVI to enable the award of posthumous research degrees for introduction with immediate effect.
