The first
cohort of EngD students has begun to make their submissions and it has become
apparent that the 10,000 word limit for the discourse which accompanies the
publications or technical reports is too restrictive for them to adequately
summarise the EngD work and present a coherent picture.
At the
request of the Director of the EngD Centre Research Committee is requested to
recommend an amendment to paragraph 19.20 of the Regulations for Higher Degrees
by Research replacing the 10,000 word limit with ‘no more than 20,000 words’.It is requested that this take immediate
effect.
