The University
will be celebrating 100 years of tertiary education in Loughborough during
2009. A steering group (chaired by the Director of External Affairs and
including the Deans, Directors of Marketing, Media Services and Imago and
including administrative support from Jackie Baseley) has undertaken a scoping
exercise and approved a draft programme and budget which has been seen and
adjusted following comments at an EMG meeting. The programme will be directed
by Dr Anne Mumford.

Key
Messages:
Some
ideas of events are listed below. Members of Learning and Teaching Committee
are asked if they have any views on how we can use the year to promote the
University’s successes in learning and teaching and enhance the feel-good
factor amongst staff and students in this. Any other thoughts on the overall
programme are welcome.
The
activities proposed below have been developed through consultation with a range
of stakeholders and have been approved by the Steering Group and by EMG. Note
that some activities are “badging” of existing events and will
incur little or no additional cost. The activities need firming up and this list
is intended to be indicative.
