Subject: Loughborough College Foundation Degree in Exercise, Health and Fitness with Management

The Validation Working Group at its meeting in November 2006 reviewed the current position in respect of LU validations.

It was noted that the FD in Exercise, Health and Fitness with Management (EHF) at Loughborough College had originally been validated for only three years, to 31 July 2007, and this end date was now out of phase with the other programmes at the College, since the validation of other programmes had been extended, following reviews in 2006, to the end of 2010/11.

Although validated from 2004, the first intake to the EHF programme had not taken place until 2005. These students would be expected to graduate in 2007.

The Working Group recommends

(i) That a mini validation review of the FD in Exercise, Health and Fitness with Management be carried out after the graduation of the first cohort of students, as an extension of the APR for 2006/07.

(ii) That subject to a satisfactory outcome to the review, the validation of the programme be extended to 31 July 2011.
