Subject: Draft Corporate
Strategy
Origin: Professor Shirley Pearce
The
University is in the process of preparing a new Corporate Strategy covering the
period 2006-2016. The process started with a Strategic Planning Away Day on 19
June, involving people from across the University including members of Council
and Senate and key representatives from Support Services.
The
discussions that took place have provided valuable input to the preparation of
the draft Corporate Strategy 2006-2016 which is now being circulated for
widespread consultation. This draft
Corporate Strategy will be underpinned by detailed supporting strategies which
will outline issues and processes that we have to address to deliver the
overall vision. Preliminary drafts of
these supporting documents have been prepared and will be developed over the
next nine months.
Our
aim is to submit the over-arching Corporate Strategy 2006-2016 to Council for
approval in December 2006. The draft
document is being circulated to appropriate University Committees and other
bodies during October and early November. I would welcome comments and
suggestions on the content of the draft document from across the
University. Please pass any comments to
Fidelma Hannah (Email F.M.Hannah@lboro.ac.uk)
in the University’s Planning Office by 1 November 2006. (17 November in case of Faculty Boards and
Learning & Teaching Committee only)
I
hope that the consultation process will enable all members of the University
community to contribute to the development of the strategy and look forward to
receiving comments on the draft document.
The
draft Strategy will be placed on the intranet and a copy of the covering note
placed in the weekly University Notices.
