I have been
through the documentation and find that the requested alterations and issues
have been resolved except for the following:
42.3.2 The Department's proposal that the SEDC Research and Training panel
takes the decision is satisfactory. Students
will need to be informed that this process exists in formal documentation.
42.3.3 The Department's proposal that the decision is recorded in the minutes
of the SEDC Research and Training panel is satisfactory but it is
suggested that the Postgraduate Office is informed of the outcomes.
42.3.4 The Department’s response is acceptable.
However, it is recommended that the AD(R) Engineering's comment that there
should be a review of the relationship between the taught component of the EngDoc, research training modules and MRes in a
year’s time be taken forward.
42.4.8 Programme Specification, Section 6, paras
3 & 4: insert a normally, 'candidates must NORMALLY have'. This
is to align with section 4 where credit totals of 178-184 are permitted.
42.4.14Since the Programme
Regulations of the Advanced Engineering MSc cannot be simply amended to include
the modules taken by the EngDoc students a new title
is needed before LTC can approve the documentation for Senate.
The existing EngDoc in Civil & Building
Engineering requires a new set of Programme Regulations and Programme
Specification for the new entry that will have the MSc as an exit award only. It is recommended that the revised documentation
should follow the model agreed for the Systems EngDoc.
