Each Committee is being asked to consider as an item on its first agenda of the year a brief list of the major issues it will need to deal with in the forthcoming year. The following list of issues likely to arise for Learning and Teaching Committee in 2005/06 can be revised as necessary in light of discussion. Other major issues will inevitably develop during the year.

(i) Learning and Teaching Strategy – looking ahead to the review of the University’s Strategic Plan in 2006/07

(ii) Performance indicators – University/faculty/departmental entry grades, retention/progression, degree classifications

(iii) Student recruitment strategy

(iv) National Student Survey, student expectations

(v) Investment in e-learning

(vi) External examiners’ reports – overview of outcomes
