· To keep under review the University's strategy in the area of information services and information technology.
· To ensure that this strategy meets institutional objectives.
· To recommend, to the Resources and Planning Committee and Council, policy in this area, including the balance of central, faculty and departmental provision of information services.
· To maintain a catalogue of the major information based projects within the University.
· To receive recommendations and reports from these major projects.
· To consider and recommend annual budgets for Audio Visual Services, Computing Services, Corporate Information Services and the Library to the Resources and Planning Committee.
· To comment upon and transmit to Senate and Council an annual report including the use of approved budgets.
· To receive and consider reports from
the Audio Visual Services Users' Committee,
the Computing Services service levels consultation meeting of IT user
representatives,
the Corporate Information Services Advisory Group,
the Library Users' Committee.
· To ensure that effective channels of communication exist between the information services and members of the University.
· To report to the Resources and Planning Committee after each meeting.
