Background

 

The policy has been drafted to ensure compliance with regulations known as the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR). This policy does not introduce new duties to the University but rather makes explicit the need for risk assessment in this particular area. The policy should also raise the profile of DSEAR as awareness is generally low.
