Subject:         First Aid Payments to Security Staff

 

Origin:           Human Resources Working Group, 21 November 2006


1.      It was agreed that the request for an additional payment of £250 for security staff was not a matter for Human Resources Working Group and should be referred to Operations Sub-Committee.  It was also agreed that from now on the requirement to have a First Aid Qualification or willingness to obtain one must be an essential criteria in the Patrol Officer and Supervisor job description.

 

2.      Human Resources Working Group expressed concern at the Health, Safety and Environment Committee’s decision to phase out the first aid honorarium and felt that this recommendation should have come to HRWG for consideration before going to Council.
