Gemma Godfrey
raised the issue of smoking on campus and the fact that smoking bans are coming
in next year. She queried whether the
University would be introducing a campus wide ban. The Students Union would be running a
campaign to help students quit smoking, with support etc, but questioned what
the University’s stand-point will be on smoking and all the issues that
would arise from a smoking ban.
It was
agreed that this Group would formally raise this issue at the next University
Health, Safety and Environment Committee.
