Annual Update of Programme Regulations and Programme Specifications for
2003/2004
NOTES
1) Summary of consultation requirements.
I Consult other academic departments if there are any implications for their teaching duties or for their own programmes.
II Consult Computing Services and/or Pilkington Library if there are any implications for their resources.
III Consult Careers Service if there is likely to be any effect upon student employability.
IV Consult Learning and Teaching Development, or the Faculty of Engineering DL Co-ordinator for Engineering departments, when a proposal involves new or innovative delivery methods (including Distance Learning)
2) The form for consultations is on the next page.
3) If consultation is required then completed consultation forms should accompany this proposal.
4) The Head of Department or Chair of the department’s Learning and Teaching Committee (or equivalent) should sign the proposal form.
5) The AD(T) should be sent the proposal form + the proposed Programme Regulations and Specifications + the previous Programme Regulations and Specifications annotated to show changes + any Consultation Forms. This page of notes may be discarded.
6) Further details of the annual approval process for Programme Regulations and Programme Specifications were circulated by Jennie Elliott on 12 March 2003.

Proposals for revisions to Programme Regulations - consultation

Consultation must take place when proposals to amend programmes are likely to have a significant impact upon other academic departments or upon Computing Services or the Pilkington Library or the Careers Service.
Consultation with Learning and Teaching Development, or the Faculty of Engineering DL
Co-ordinator for Engineering departments, should be undertaken when a proposal involves new or innovative delivery methods (including distance learning).
PLEASE allow the above Departments and Support Services adequate time to read your proposal and complete this form.
This pro forma is intended to provide details of the consultations that have taken place and must accompany the relevant proposals. The originating department should complete (1), (2) and (3), and request the Head of each Department or Support Service consulted to complete the comment section below.

Withdrawal of the BSP001 module from the Programme Regulations for students on the MSc Construction Project Management and Construction Management programmes. Major restructuring of these programmes means that this module no longer fits with the intended learning outcomes of the programmes.

Regulations for the
Postgraduate Degree Programme in
Construction Project
Management
(Full-Time)
These Regulations
refer to the conduct of this Programme in the Session 2004-2005 but are subject
to change from time to time. Notice of
change will be given in subsequent editions of these Regulations. Students should enquire as to the up-to-date
position when they need to know this.
These Regulations are
to be read in conjunction with the General Regulations for Modular Postgraduate
Awards (GRMPA) and the Assessment Regulations for Modular Postgraduate Awards.
1. Structure
1.1
The
Programme is the responsibility of the Department of Civil and Building
Engineering and leads to the award of MSc, a Loughborough University Postgraduate
Diploma (LPD), or a Loughborough University Postgraduate Certificate (LPC).
1.2
The
Programme may be taken on a full-time basis only. Registration on the Programme will normally be at the start of
either Semester 1 or Semester 2.
1.3
The
Programme comprises study for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years.
1.4
The
Programme comprises study for a minimum of two semesters, devoted to taught
modules with a total weighting of 120 credits and the Postgraduate Research
Project (CVP009) with a module weighting of 60. Submission of the Postgraduate Research project is mid September,
as advised by the Programme Tutor.
2. Content
NOTE (1) Not
all non-compulsory modules will be available in each academic year.

3. Assessment
3.1 Each module will be assessed and credit
awarded in accordance with the levels of achievement specified in GRMPA.
3.2
Provision
will be made in accordance with the GRMPA for candidates who have the right of
re-examination to be reassessed in the University's Special Assessment Period.
3.3
Students
registered on a module by the end of the initial registration period are to
undergo assessment in all the various components of that module’s
assessment. The overall mark obtained
for that module will then be submitted to the Module Board as the student’s
first attempt.
3.4
Where
an alternative module is taken as a re-assessment, this is to be done with
tuition and with the permission of the Programme Tutor.
