Curriculum Sub-Committee

Subject:        MSc Plant Management

CSC was asking LTC to establish a small group to engage in further discussions with the MoD about proposals for an MSc programme in Plant Management, to be delivered on MoD premises at Chatham.  Four of the five taught modules would be taught by MoD instructors and the fifth by LU staff from Civil and Building Engineering; the research project would be co-supervised by MoD and LU.

It was noted that the proposals had been referred back by Operations Sub-Committee.  However, if the Engineering Directorate and Operations Sub-Committee agreed that the proposals should be pursued, it would be appropriate for the PVC(T), in accordance with the ‘code of practice on collaborative provision’ to establish a small group, with membership along the lines suggested by CSC, to conduct further enquiries, if necessary visit the MoD establishment at Chatham, and prepare appropriate additional documentation.  The group would report to LTC through CSC.
