Mature students
Buddying scheme
21+ Buddying
There is a peer support scheme running for mature students in a number of departments. This buddies a continuing mature student with a new mature student in the same department and lasts through the new student’s first term at Loughborough. This is a great opportunity to get tips and support from another mature student who has already been studying for a year or longer. It can make all the difference to settling in during the first weeks of term.
Departments that currently have this scheme include:
- Art and Design
- English and Drama
- School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences – which includes students of Human Biology, Psychology and Sports Sciences
- SEFS (Science and Engineering Foundation Studies)
- Social Sciences – which includes students of Communication and Media Studies, Criminology and Social Policy, Social Psychology and Sociology
If you would like to start a buddying scheme in your department for mature students or if you would like to have a buddy or become a buddy yourself, please contact Kay Bridger.
