Joining in on these activities is not only a great way to meet new people, but also provides you with some unique experiences. The activities also look great on your CV and can provide you with a wealth of new opportunities.
Sporting Clubs
The Athletic Union (as part of the Students’ Union) offers over 50 sporting clubs to Loughborough Students. You can join these clubs as a new member or as someone who has already participated in the sport. All of them require payment of a fee and some of the more popular sports require a try out at the beginning of the academic year.
You can meet members of each of these clubs at the Students’ Union Bazaar which runs on a weekend during the first few weeks of term on campus. This gives you the opportunity to see what the clubs are like and find out what type of involvement is required.
A wide range of students become part of these clubs and they welcome students of all ages, nationalities and ability.
A full list of the clubs is available from the AU website
Clubs and Societies
The Students’ Union Societies Federation has a range of over 60 clubs and societies that you can become a part of as a Loughborough Student. These societies are a great way to meet like minded people and membership is open to all students. They cover a range of interests including, food and drink, performance, art and music, culture, nation and faith as well as films, games and technology, plus much, much more.
For more information on what clubs and societies are available see the website
Recreational Sport and Leisure
The University offers a wide range of recreational sports facilities and classes to students who don’t want to play sport as part of a club. Access to all facilities on campus is available to students, staff and members of the general public. Loughborough Students benefit from reduced rates.

Opportunities exist throughout the year and are advertised both in your department and through the Students’ Union.
