Ursula Lockley Travel Bursary 2003
Report from Vikki Frost - LUSAD
FRANKFURT am MAIN
EIKES GRAFISCHER HORT
Many people do work experience over the summer holidays but the travel bursary allowed me to travel to Germany to experience something new. I found a place at Eikes Grafisher Hort, a graphic design studio just outside of Frankfurt’s city centre, who base themselves in music industry design and corporate identity. I was treated as a trainee and over five weeks was able to see how the company worked, get involved in their projects and practice the language, as well as having my own time to see the city and do work for university to prepare for the final year.
The travel bursary helped me pay for the flight and travel costs that a five week stay in a european country brings. Despite the extra cost, travelling abroad brought with it valuable experiences of a different culture that can only be beneficial at the end of a university degree course.
