The Appointment of External Examiners

The University expects the majority of appointments as External Programme Assessors and External Examiners to be offered to people with the rank of Reader or Professor. Other people will be considered but in these cases a curriculum vitae should be included with the request to make an appointment.

Appointments are for three years. After that, a one year extension is possible upon request.

Requests for new appointments must be accompanied with a standard set of information about the department and its programmes, together with a checklist to ensure that the information is complete.
