Primary Responsibilities.

Director of Planning - Fidelma Hannah
  • Working with ALT and University Committees on the development and implementation of the University Strategy – towards 2016
  • Provision of advice and guidance on key policy and funding issues
  • Liaison with external agencies and departments across the University on a wide range of planning matters
  • Establishment of effective monitoring and reporting processes
  • Integrating the University’s planning processes with the preparation of the University’s budget
  • Supporting major projects which have a university-wide dim
Secretary to Operations Committee and Finance Committee

Senior Planning Officer – Tom Wale
  • Overall responsibility for the preparation of a wide range of management information to support planning processes
  • Completion of funding and other statistical returns
  • Provision of information and advice on HEFCE and TDA funding mechanisms
  • Development of detailed student number forecasts for corporate and business planning purposes and the analysis of league table and other comparative data.
Secretary to Audit Committee, Research Performance Monitoring Committee, Costing & Pricing Committee

Planning Officer – Kirsty Carter
  • Support for Operations Committee, including the staff approval and the departmental development planning processes
  • The production of student and other data, including Statistics Handbook and SSRs, for planning and monitoring purposes
  • The preparation of Annual Monitoring Statements for HEFCE
  • Working with the Student Records Office on the preparation of FE funding returns
Assistant Secretary to Operations Committee, Secretary to Residential Provision and Management Sub-Committee and Advancement Committee

Planning Officer – Tom Orrill
  • Support for Estates Management Committee and the major projects responsibilities of Operations Committee
  • The administration of the project approval process including support for Project Management Boards and Independent Review Groups
  • The development and maintenance of detailed records and tracking systems for major projects
  • The development of management information for planning purposes
  • Working with Tom Wale on the preparation of funding returns, student population and load models
Assistant Secretary to the IT Steering Group, Secretary to Estates Management Committee and Project Management Boards and Independent Review Groups as required.

Executive Officer – Jenny Walker (Working hours: 9am-1pm)
  • Preparation and analysis of a wide range of management information including KPIs, League tables and NSS
  • Assisting with the preparation of funding returns
  • Assisting with student population and load models
  • Preparation of data for the HEBCI survey including short course data
  • The development of management information for planning purposes.
Administrative support for Audit Committee

Administrative Assistant – Elaine Leadley-Jackman (Working hours: 8am-1.30pm)
  • Preparation of data for the Statistics Handbook and the Facts and Figures Card
  • Preparation of departmental profiles
  • Preparation of student intake data and equal opportunities and diversity data
  • Arrangements for Strategic Planning Away days and HoDs/HOSS meetings.
  • General Office administration including budgets, holidays and sickness
Administrative support for Council, Advancement, Residential Provision and Management Sub-Committee, Finance Committee and Research Performance Monitoring Committee and Costing & Pricing Committee

Administrative Assistant – Kathryn Irving (Working hours: 1-5pm)
  • Administration of the staff approval process and the provision of administrative support for Operations Committee
  • Assisting with the preparation of staff data for SSRs and other purposes
  • The preparation of data in response to ad hoc data queries
  • Working with Student Records on the preparation of FE funding returns
  • General office administration including the organisation of meetings
Administrative support for Operations, Estates Management Committees, IT Steering Group and Project Boards
