How will my feedback help?
NSS data in particular is used in Staff-Student Committees and in the annual review of programmes that all departments carry out. It's also used in the major five-yearly review - conducted by a Panel which includes a Students’ Union rep and a senior academic from another university.
As well as the dedicated uses for NSS data above, it it one of the most important sources of feedback used in determining how the University prioritises developments. Below are just some of the examples of projects the University has undertaken where student feedback contributed.

Library & IT Services
Library:
- opening hours increased - to midnight 7 days a week term-time and 24/7 at exam times
- more PCs and wifi coverage extended
- increasing the numbers of book students can borrow
- improved group study rooms, and stopping some users ‘reserving’ study spaces in exam periods by leaving belongings while they go off elsewhere (in liaison with the Students’ Union)
- undergrad ambassadors to help make services more student-friendly
IT:
- new, state-of-the-art resource in Haslegrave - the latest iMacs running MacOS, Windows and Linux with wifi, a wide range of software, printers and scanning, together with group study areas
- wireless networking being rolled out to halls of residence
- drop-in PC Clinic - free diagnosis and advice for students’ own computers
- Google - email and other applications provided
- employment opportunities - part-time jobs and placements on campus
