Department student shortlisted for Autocar Next Generation Award
Tarun Bhuvaneshwari, one of the Department’s Automotive Systems Engineering MSc students, is one of six UK students who have been shortlisted for the annual Autocar Next Generation Award.
Tarun’s success is hot on the heels of the success of former Loughborough MSc student Hari Meyyappan, who won last year’s competition.
The Next Generation Award offers entrants a unique chance to launch a coveted industry career and is run in partnership with Courland Automotive and the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders. The 2011 award is backed by McLaren Automotive, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Peugeot and Skoda.
Having been short-listed to the final six, Tarun will now go through to a Dragons’ Den-style judging process next month where he will be presenting his idea to a panel of senior industry representatives.
Dr Stephen Walsh, Programme Director for the MSc in Automotive Systems Engineering, said,
“To have another Loughborough student reach the final stages of such a prestigious competition for a second year in a row is a great achievement. We’re delighted that Tarun has had the opportunity to gain such unique experience of meeting and presenting to industry experts and wish him all the best in the Final.”
